In honor of Mitchell an award was developed
to be presented to an individual(s), corporation, group, foundation or organization that was vital in the revival or has been
significantly involved in the preservation of Mardi Gras since the revival. Each year the recipient will be honored with a
plaque during a ceremony prior to the beginning of a parade saluting the honoree(s) in front of The Tremont House.

We broke the record, now let’s BREAK IT
AGAIN! The Funky Uptown Umbrella Brigade will begin 20th street between Mechanic & Strand and march throughout the district
stopping in front of The Tremont House for another rendition of the Hokey Pokey for the Guinness World Record . All participants

krewe. Rounding out the first night of Mardi Gras! Gaveston 2012, Krewe da’ Yaga’s Café makes its return with

when you can have the Zaniest (DECORATED) Golf Cart Parade? This parade is another great chance for friends and family to
get together and participate in this interactive display of the ZANY spirit of Mardi Gras! Galveston. Free Entertainment District

Danny Weber Memorial Fire Truck Parade
Danny Weber, Sr. was a lifelong Galvestonian
who spent over 30 years in the Galveston Fire Department as he worked his way through the ranks, eventually becoming Fire
Chief. After he retired, still wishing to serve the community he loved, he ran for City Council, serving three terms as the
District 5 Representative. Danny was a devoted family man and a good friend to all who knew him. This parade is dedicated

Z Krewe 18th Z Processional
Z Krewe’s 18th Annual Z Processional will
wind its way through the historic streets of downtown Galveston and The Strand area, “Perpetuating the Spirit of Mardi
Gras” with bands, beads, and merriment. This year’s Zanie Processional will make its way to the Trumpet’s
balcony where King and Queen Zanie XVII and their Royal Court of Zoots and Zaftigs will salute the crowd and party on the
Strand. The processional’s route will begin at 25th Street and Mechanic, travel east along Mechanic to 20th Street,
and then proceed to the Strand. Z Krewe’s parade of partygoers will continue west on the Strand ending at 25th Street.

Mystic Krewe of Aquarius 17th Annual “Fat Tuesday”
Parade
The Fat Tuesday Parade will roll for the 17th
year. This lighted parade will feature Aquarius floats and the Krewes of Gambrinus, Thalasar, Bacchus, Babalu, Boudreaux,
DuLac and ZKrewe. This is the final show before the curtain is drawn on Mardi Gras 2012. Don't miss the beads, floats, marching
bands and merriment of the Aquarius "Fat Tuesday" Parade.
